This role focuses on providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the residents' physical, psychological, and social well-being. The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator will work to promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents. The role involves identifying residents' life histories, needs, and preferences, planning and organising activities and events, and maintaining a safe and positive environment.
Job responsibilities
- Identify residents' life histories, needs, and preferences by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
- Plan and submit a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview to the Home Manager.
- Arrange activities, events and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives and visitors.
- Maintain a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing dementia setting.
- Experience organising activities and events.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
- Ability to live the values of caring, support, honesty, respect and accountability in all that you do.
Requirements
- ADBDS disclosure check (cost covered by the employer).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
