An essential part of our team, you will support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering diverse activities that enhance residents' physical, cognitive, and social well‑being at Highcliffe Care Home in Sunderland. You will maintain a safe, professional environment, report changes in residents’ conditions, manage activity supplies, and cultivate community links.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to a positive professional image of the home.
- Report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
- Assist in ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
- Support the establishment of links with the local community (schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to promote intergenerational activities.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, cognitive and social well‑being to appropriate staff.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
- Demonstrable understanding of how interaction supports overall well‑being.
- Experience working with older adults in a residential nursing dementia setting is preferred.
- Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable in all interactions.
Additional Requirements
- Successful ADBS disclosure check – the cost will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
