About the Role
The Kitchen Assistant at Avery Healthcare supports the catering function in food preparation and maintains a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring high quality service is delivered to residents. Responsibilities
- Prepare food and beverages, adhering to safe food handling principles and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.
- Contribute to effective teamwork, responding positively to colleagues and acting promptly on reasonable work instructions.
- Advise on the supply and quality of items used, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
- Behave respectfully towards residents and their visitors, upholding each individual’s dignity and individuality.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high personal hygiene standards.
- Have knowledge of Health & Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
- Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and respond to a demanding workload.
- Show initiative, flexibility and a positive attitude towards team working.
- Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.
