Main duties of the job
The General Manager leads a dynamic environment focused on delivering person-centred care. You’ll champion quality care based on best practices, drive recruitment and development to build a strong team, and act as a key contact for residents, families, and professionals. Responsibilities include managing staffing levels, providing inspirational leadership, and overseeing budgets to ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate has four years of experience in a similar setting, a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, strong leadership and communication skills, digital competency, and adaptability.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind a vibrant, person-centred care environment. You’ll lead and motivate your team to deliver exceptional care, ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and truly at home while meeting regulatory standards and achieving key business goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Championing high-quality, person-centred care based on best practice
- Driving recruitment, retention, and development to build a strong, engaged team
- Acting as a key point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and external professionals
- Managing staffing levels to ensure safe, effective care at all times
- Providing inspiring leadership that empowers your team to be their best
- Overseeing budgets, stock, and resources to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations

- Have at least four years’ experience in a similar care environment
- Hold a Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)

- Be IT competent and comfortable with digital systems
- Be adaptable, flexible, and ready to step in where needed

Person Specification
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have at least four years’ experience in a similar care environment and hold a Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification (or equivalent). Strong leadership and management skills, clear and confident communication abilities, IT competency, and adaptability are also required.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Depending on experience Salary expectations will be discussed at interview stage.
