We are now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award‑winning team as a Commis Chef at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home in Surrey.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks across all kitchen areas.
- Work on a six‑month rotation programme covering vegetables, fish, meat, and sauces.
- Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
- Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions, addressing special needs, dietary requirements and cultural or religious preferences.
- Prepare nutritional meals and beverages to a high standard, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
- Prepare special‑diet meals as directed by the chefs.
About You
- Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
- Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Have a minimum of one year of catering experience.
- Demonstrate compassion and a commitment to delivering high‑quality culinary services to residents.
- Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
Requirements and Additional Criteria
- A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
