Main duties of the job Registered Nurse – Nights at Elton House Care Home in Watford. The role requires you to provide high standards of care and to act as person in charge when required. Responsibilities include:
- Distributing medication
- Managing chronic conditions
- Advising families and GPs
- Ensuring effective deployment and supervision of staff
- Maintaining accurate care assessment and planning
- Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions
- Advising families and GPs of any changes in resident condition and keeping them informed and involved in care decisions
- Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning
About you: To be successful you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable in all that you do. You should hold a First Level qualification and current NMC registration, demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience and up‑to‑date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post‑basic studies/qualification. You should display good interpersonal skills and the ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities, have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application, and show commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required, and the cost will be met by Avery Healthcare. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is also required.
