Avery Healthcare is hiring a Laundry Assistant at Astbury Manor Care Home in Bracknell. The role involves ensuring high-quality laundering services that contribute to the care standards of residents. The posting is for flexible hours from 8:00 to 16:30, covering weekdays and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Housekeeper in providing a laundering service as part of the hospitality services function.
  • Carry out all laundering duties, including washing, drying, ironing and folding of textiles.
  • Interpret wash guide instructions and understand laundering requirements for a wide range of textiles.
  • Apply safe systems of work when moving and handling loads, assessing risk and ensuring personal safety as well as the safety of residents, visitors and staff.
  • Contribute to teamwork by responding positively to colleagues and promptly acting on reasonable work instructions.

About You

  • Demonstrate an understanding of laundering requirements for various textiles.
  • Have experience working in a similar care or hotel setting.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards residents and show compassion and commitment to laundry services.

Shift Details

Hours: 8:00 – 16:30, flexible across weekdays and weekends.

Disclosure

This position requires a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is also required.
