People Experience Officer – Employee Relations Location: Sidcup / Hybrid Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Salary: £30,000 per annum + benefits Closing date: 27th August 2026 Planned interviews: this will be confirmed with suitable applicants  Make a difference through great people experience We’re looking for a People Experience Officer to join our People Team, with Employee Relations at the heart of the role. This is an opportunity to join a team that supports managers and employees across the organisation, helping us create a positive, fair and consistent experience for our people. What will you be doing? Employee Relations casework will be your primary focus. You’ll manage your own portfolio of cases and provide trusted advice and support to managers throughout the process. Your caseload will include matters such as: Disciplinary and grievance cases Capability and performance matters Probation Attendance and sickness absence Flexible working and family-friendly matters Informal workplace concerns You’ll work closely with managers to help them understand policy, procedure and potential risk, ensuring cases are managed consistently, appropriately and in line with employment legislation and our organisational values. You’ll also prepare case documentation, maintain accurate records and ensure more complex or high-risk matters are escalated appropriately. But this role is about more than casework. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider employee experience, supporting wellbeing, engagement, recognition and culture initiatives, as well as employee voice and feedback activities. You’ll help us understand what our people are telling us and turn that insight into meaningful improvements. Good ER support is about spotting patterns as well as managing individual cases. You’ll produce casework reports and management information, monitor trends and identify recurring issues, sharing your insight with the wider People Team to help shape improvements across the organisation. What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone with solid experience in Employee Relations or HR advisory work, who is comfortable managing cases and providing advice to managers and employees. You’ll need: Experience of managing employee relations casework and providing an advisory service Experience managing conduct, grievance and performance cases A strong working knowledge of UK employment law Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills The ability to manage competing priorities and a varied caseload Confidence to challenge, influence and provide sound advice when needed Relevant professional qualifications, or demonstrable equivalent experience. Experience within social care or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous, as would experience of HR systems, policy development, trade union partnership working, restructures and redundancies.
