Are you a skilled writer with a talent for building compelling funding applications? Do you want your work to make a genuine difference? Join Avenues as our new Grants Fundraiser and play a key role in helping us grow our impact through successful grant and trust fundraising.
Working closely with the Fundraising & Communications Manager and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll research opportunities, develop persuasive funding proposals, and help secure vital income that supports our mission and services.
What you’ll be doing:
- Researching and identifying grant and trust funding opportunities
- Writing engaging, high-quality funding applications and reports
- Gathering impact stories, outcomes and data from teams across the organisation
- Managing a pipeline of applications and funding deadlines
- Building positive relationships with funders and partners
- Monitoring funded projects and ensuring compliance with funder requirements
- Supporting bids, tenders and award applications where needed
What we’re looking for:
You’ll be an organised and proactive communicator with strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail. You may already have experience in fundraising, bid writing or communications within the charity sector — or you could bring transferable experience from another environment where persuasive writing and relationship management were key.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience writing successful funding applications or proposals
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills
- Experience of working in a fundraising, bid writing or communications role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector
- Experience of managing multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong research and organisational abilities
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A collaborative, positive and solutions-focused approach
