Autism Specialist Trainer and Oliver McGowan Lead Facilitator. North Hampshire Based or willing to travel. Hours of work: 24 hours per week fixed term 1 year (with the potential this could be extended).

The department provides autism training to external organisations and employers, individuals, parents and schools across Hampshire and wider. Autism Hampshire provides the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training to Health and Social Care across Hampshire.
The nature of the role means you will be required to attend 2 days in person training to acquire the accreditation needed to be an Oliver McGowan Lead Facilitator in August (Date TBC) or already be an accredited Facilitator. You will be required to deliver face to face sessions for up to 30 delegates across Hampshire whilst supporting your lived experience autistic and learning disabled co-trainers.
Due to the specialisation of our training department, you will need to have a strong understanding of autism, including sensory, communication and autistic thinking. We are looking for people who believe in the positive differences of autistic people, that no autistic person is the same and who can support individuals, parents and employers to learn and think differently.
You will need to approach all aspects of the role in a flexible, positive and inclusive manner, have excellent interpersonal skills, be extremely organised, and be proficient in maintaining accurate records. To ensure we offer training at the most convenient time to everyone, some evenings and weekends courses will be a requirement of the post holder at times.
Due to the highly specialist nature of this position, we are seeking applications from people who have extensive knowledge of, and related qualifications in, autism and teaching/training plus a proven track record in developing learning programmes and delivering training to large groups of people.
CLOSING DATE: Monday 20th July 2026 - Potential interview date will take place on Wednesday 29th July 2026. Any successful candidate must be available to attend a training course which is over the following dates 3rd-7th August 2026. There will be an expectation if you are successful for interview that every candidate delivers a 10-minute presentation on the topic of 'Montropism.'
