Avenue Recruitment are currently seeking a Software Engineer/IT Support for a well established client based in Fife. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours over 4 or 4.5 days.
The Role
- Development and support of SQL based database software that is used internally to scan and track products through the manufacturing process.
- Design and maintain databases to hold all product serial number information for traceability.
- Support users on the Javelin ERP system.
- Write and maintain custom Crystal reports as requested by users.
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and system improvements.
- Enable faster and smarter business processes that improve employee productivity.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support software packages, both off-the-shelf and bespoke.
- Write and debug C# .Net applications for Windows.
- Implement applications and software upgrades along with troubleshooting any performance issues.
- Specify, install, configure, and support PC hardware, printers, and phones.
- Execute systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration.
- Ensure components meet business needs and work together seamlessly.
- Train employees in using software and hardware providing technical support when needed.
The Candidate
- Two years of experience in I.T.
- Experience with SQL Server relational database programming.
- Experience in writing and debugging C# .NET applications for Windows.
- Knowledge of operating systems, current equipment, technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
