Section Engineer | Dunfermline – Central Scotland | ££Negotiable DOEMy client a leader in their field have an urgent opening for a Section Engineer to join their expanding operations on permanent basis.
Job Purpose:We are seeking a Section Engineer who will be responsible for managing a section of works on a major energy project. You will oversee setting out, quality management, and temporary works, while supporting the site team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Site Engineers and support the Site Agent and supervisors with the day-to-day running of the site.
Provide and maintain setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction.
Create and implement inspection and test plans (ITPs) from drawings and specifications.
Take responsibility for temporary works, ensuring they are designed and implemented safely.
Support the Site Agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
Provide engineering support to resolve technical problems and answer technical queries.
Complete procurement schedules and take-offs, ensuring resources are managed effectively.
Mentor and support other engineers within your team.
Role Requirements:
Competent in setting out all civil engineering works.
Experience in quality control and creating/implementing ITPs.
Proven ability to plan ahead and delegate effectively.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Full manual UK driving licence.
Flexible and willing to travel across Scotland.
Desirable:
Temporary Works Coordinator.
Experience within the energy sector.
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Demonstrable experience (minimum 3 years) on large-scale infrastructure programmes, ideally within the energy sector.
Sound knowledge of construction specifications and health & safety legislation.
