A well-established and growing engineering services business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HSE professional to play a key role in driving compliance, improving standards, and promoting a strong safety culture across both office and operational environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with management and site teams to ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are consistently maintained and continuously improved.
The Role
- Managing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
- Preparing for and supporting internal and external audits
- Providing practical HSE advice and guidance across the business
- Promoting a positive health & safety culture and driving employee engagement
- Investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Reviewing and updating company policies, procedures, and risk management systems
- Conducting regular site inspections and compliance checks
- Delivering health & safety training and toolbox talks
- Leading HSE meetings, initiatives, and improvement projects
- Maintaining accurate safety records and documentation
About You
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Manager or Senior HSE role
- Strong knowledge of current health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Good IT and administration skills, including Microsoft Office
Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate and/or IOSH qualification
- Experience within engineering, construction, M&E, industrial or commercial sectors preferred
- Knowledge of ISO management systems advantageous
