Aventum is retained by a client who is seeking a mid-level disputes professional to join them as a Litigation Counsel, reviewing merits of complex commercial litigation. This key position involves conducting thorough early case due diligence to inform decisions on third-party funding or After The Event (ATE) insurance products.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive legal risk assessments of potential cases;
  • Evaluate litigation merits, quantum, and recoverability;
  • Draft detailed case analysis reports with funding recommendations;
  • Liaise with solicitors and counsel to gather critical case information;
  • Present findings to the investment committee;
  • Monitor and report on case progress post-investment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally from a recognised law firm or in-house legal team;
  • Strong technical litigation background with demonstrable case analysis skills;
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of litigation funding principles;
  • Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
