Role Summary
You will serve as the primary interface between Aventum Compliance and its regulated entities and ARs. You will be responsible for providing compliance advice and guidance, as well as supporting the implementation of Group policies and procedures.
You will support the Head of Compliance Advisory in delivering high-quality advisory work and developing a pragmatic compliance infrastructure, striking a balance between commerciality and fostering a culture where the business fully embraces compliance.
Role Accountabilities
- Work closely with your allocated regulated entity and its ARs to provide support with implementing and maintaining the Compliance Framework
- Act, with support from the wider Compliance team, as the primary point of contact for day-to-day compliance queries from your allocated regulated entity and its ARs.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team from your allocated regulated entity and its ARs to support the business in implementing pragmatic solutions by providing expert advice, challenge and opinion on regulatory matters.
- Support the Compliance team in ensuring that Aventum Group’s activities comply at all times with its internal procedures, FCA, and other legislative requirements.
- Take an active role in identifying relevant regulatory changes and subsequent projects to implement new or updated regulatory rules or guidance.
- Provide clear, unambiguous advice and guidance to your allocated regulated entity and its ARs on how it can meet its international licensing requirements.
- Provide Compliance support to your allocated regulated entity and its ARs on issues and risks relating to their business or function, including the development and launch of new business models, new products, and new functional processes.
- Support with the production of the firm’s global compliance plan for approval by the Group Head of Compliance.
- Promote open communication between Compliance and the Aventum Group, with particular regard to updates on current Compliance initiatives and projects.
- Assist Compliance in the design, drafting, review, and implementation of Aventum’s compliance policy documents and procedures.
- Work with Compliance to provide training sessions to the Aventum staff on core compliance topics.
- Support Aventum to ensure that adequate records are kept throughout the organisation to demonstrate compliance with FCA requirements and to facilitate regulatory reporting.
Role Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant compliance experience within the (re)insurance and Lloyd\’s market.
- A strong understanding of the FCA’s and Lloyd’s rules and guidance.
- Insurance or compliance qualifications, e.g. CII, ICA (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
- A personable individual who is keen, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- An excellent verbal and written communicator.
- Excellent relationship-building and ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders within the business.
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- High attention to detail.
- Preferably educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Good level of IT literacy, particularly in Excel and Word.
