We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Offshore Structures to join the Offshore Structures team. The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Follow up and review of technical documentation and analyses produced by other Contractors, especially for decommissioning projects.
- Setting and definition of design approach and review of structural analyses and technical documentation produced by an internal team.
- Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
- Study and define the best technical solutions for offshore structures (both substructures and topsides) during various design stages (feasibility, FEED, detail design).
- Prepare sketch drawings and concept and feasibility studies.
- Be aware of structural design standards and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
- Be aware of marine operations and naval interfaces with structural design.
- Teamwork and collaboration with immediate and wider teams during the execution of assigned tasks.
- Liaise with other disciplines during project execution for the execution of the assigned tasks.
- Prepare and review all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities during the different phases of the Project, such as Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, Operations, Decommissioning.
- Review structural aspects of Bidder Call for Tender & Selection for EPC, T&I, Platform Decommissioning (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.).
- Review and approve FEED, Tender and Detailed Engineering performed by Contractors as applicable for structural aspects.
Qualification
- Strong experience in analyses and design of offshore structures, in accordance with ISO1900 series, API RP2A, AISC, DNV codes.
- Ability to create and verify FEM models of fixed offshore structures, e.g., jacket and topside, for in-place and temporary conditions.
- Experience in the definition and design of foundation systems, including but not limited to foundation piles and mud mats.
- Experience in structural detail design associated with the decommissioning of offshore platforms.
- Knowledge on removal procedures, applicable codes, and specific issues associated with platform removal activities.
- Experience in follow-up and review of structural documentation prepared by other Contractors, especially for decommissioning projects.
- Experience in design for nonlinear analyses, blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, pushover analyses.
- Experience in re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, life extension, reliability analyses, with a strong attitude towards problem solving and capacity to make critical choices.
- Familiarity with offshore structural materials, fabrication, and installation aspects.
- Experience with floaters design.
- Experience in definition of tender documentation for offshore structures.
- Capacity to analyze and make independent recommendations for solutions to problems with varying complexity.
- Ability to suggest innovative solutions.
- Proactive approach in decisional process and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface with other disciplines in relation to the assigned tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline such as Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (with focus on structures).
- Proficient usage of the following software: DNVGL SESAM Suite, USFOS, ANSYS, SACS, STAAD.
- Demonstrable experience in design of structures in all project phases (feasibility study, FEED, detailed engineering, Operations, Platform removal).
Conditions
- We operate a Smart Working policy allowing personnel to work up to 12 days/month from home or a similar secure location, even during leave for a portion of the month. Typically, around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
