Our client, which is wholly owned by a global energy company, performs a key role developing projects and providing expert engineering support to businesses worldwide. The company has an integrated operation office in the UK in Basingstoke, and is currently helping to lead in the energy transition from traditional business areas with decarbonised solutions such as CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) to innovative projects such as renewables, hydrogen, etc. The office is a landmark feature on Basing View in central Basingstoke, with ample free parking and only a five-minute walk from the mainline railway station. SmartWorking (Hybrid Working)

Our client operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure UK location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

A Senior Engineer, HSEQ is required to support projects with Project Quality activities, including PQP, ITT Packages and Technical Bid Evaluation. They will act as part of the Project Quality team across projects, potentially acting as the Project Discipline Leader on individual projects. They will advise projects on quality matters.

Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the position

  • Previous working experience on oil and gas / energy design projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to produce high quality deliverables on schedule.
  • Ability to adapt to work within different Quality Management Systems requirements and frameworks.
  • Trained auditor for ISO9001 (also ISO14001/45001 preferable), able to perform project quality audits and support the team if required on company audits.
  • Experience in procurement phase of projects: evaluate tenderer documentations; prepare, discuss and close tenderer clarifications, prepare quality score and technical bid evaluation report.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Relevant degree or higher qualification; e.g. BSc Chemical Engineering, Process Safety (desirable).
  • HSE knowledge and experience desirable.
