Position Overview
The position holder is responsible for supervising construction HSE activities within the EGL1 project, related to onshore civil and installation works, ensuring compliance with the Client’s HSE Management System, Client and contractual requirements. The role is meant to be a full‑time position at site.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To ensure that all HSE activities at construction site(s) are carried on in accordance with the UK applicable laws and regulations, client requirements and Client’s HSE MS related to Health, Safety and Environment.
- To assist Project HSE Managers in Risk Management process (i.e. Design and Detailed HAZID).
- To facilitate accidents/incidents investigation and to carry out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans at site level.
- To conduct HSE inspections and audits on subcontractors involved in project activities and to create the related reports, ensuring a follow‑up of the outcome.
- To develop and perform project safety training / induction and contribute to the implementation at site level of Client’s safety behavioural initiatives, also including suppliers and subcontractors.
- To monitor, evaluate and analyse the effectiveness of the HSE Plans and propose improvement actions.
- To collect all Safety Observation Cards and monitor follow up.
- To collect all the required HSE KPIs and to report them to the Project HSE Manager.
- To ensure the proper waste management, including segregation, collection, and reporting.
Qualifications, Experience, Desired Skills
- Proven health & safety experience and behavioural standards within Projects in the energy or construction sectors.
- Recognised professional health and safety qualification such as Degree or NEBOSH qualification at a level commensurate with the criticality of the defined key role.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Technical Degree (engineering).
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 series standard; be qualified as lead auditor will be a plus.
- Strong leadership, team player. People management/influencing and organisational skills.
- Preferred Marine certification (e.g. BOSIET and working at height or equivalent).
- Investigation course (e.g. TapRoot, Kelvin Top Set, or equivalent).
- Mental Health First Aider will be a plus.
