For one of our major clients, a leading cable manufacturer and installer, we are actively looking to hire a Site Installation Engineer with proven experience in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Microtunneling. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of HDD and cable pull-in operations on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Documentation & Compliance
- Assist the client's installation office in reviewing and approving subcontractor engineering documentation related to HDD and cable pull-in works.
- Ensure compliance with project technical requirements, industry best practices, and HSE regulations.
- Support risk assessment activities and method statement reviews.
- Ensure proper documentation flow between stakeholders and support the project team in managing technical queries.
- Site Execution & Supervision
- Support the Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day subcontractor activities from mobilization to demobilization.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during installation and drilling operations.
- Stakeholder & Client Interaction
- Act as the on-site point of contact for client representatives, ensuring alignment between project objectives and execution.
- Interface with internal teams (Project Management, HSE, Quality, Engineering) to facilitate seamless progress of work scope.
- Subcontractor & Deliverables Management
- Supervise and validate subcontractor deliverables, including As-Built documentation and technical reports.
- Track and report site progress, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Profile & Technical & Professional Competencies
- Strong experience in HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) and Microtunneling in infrastructure or energy projects.
- Knowledge of cable pull-in operations, trenchless technology, and HDD construction methodologies.
- Familiarity with risk assessment procedures, method statements, and site HSE protocols.
- Ability to interpret and review technical drawings, installation procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-pressure site environment.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
