SmartWorking (Hybrid Working)
Our client operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure UK location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities
A Senior Engineer with competencies in technical safety is required to be involved in various projects, supporting or acting as Project Discipline Lead Engineer. Projects will vary from Feasibility phase through Basic Design and FEED. Projects can be relevant to onshore/offshore oil/gas production facilities, with special focus on LNG and renewables production facilities.
- Undertake analysis, calculations and/or engineering studies delegated as his/her responsibility on a project (i.e., produce technical safety deliverables) in accordance with Company Standards/Procedures and international codes/standards.
- Supervise the activities of subordinates and/or third-party contractors assigned to his/her responsibility to ensure achievement of technical standards and production schedule for each project.
- Check and approve documents and drawings produced by others according to departmental procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues (both inside and outside of the Technical Safety group) in interpretation of and solutions for safety design requirements.
- Coordinate and expedite discipline or multidiscipline interfaces associated with assigned areas of responsibility.
- Participate, when assigned, in development of Company standards and procedures.
- Assist, when required, in manhour estimates and planning activities associated with proposals and projects.
- Keep abreast of the technical developments in area of technology and with associated National and International standards, and company and departmental procedures and methods.
- Actively participate in technical safety reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP and SIL.
Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the position
- Experience in Loss Prevention Activities (e.g., F&G Design, Active/Passive Fire Protection, Hazardous Area Classification).
- Experience in Risk Analysis (e.g., QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, Flare/Vent Studies).
- Experience in Development of HSE related Philosophies.
- Experience in Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Studies.
- Experience in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessments.
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline, for example Chemical Engineering, accredited by the relevant chartered engineering institute (for example, the IChemE).
- Chartered Engineer or certified process safety practitioner status preferred.
- Knowledge of Eni tools and standards would represent a significant advantage for this position.
- Available to travel worldwide for short term business trips or international rotations lasting 6 – 12 months at Company or third-party contractor offices.
