We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Decontamination Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is based in the field across the UK.
THE ROLE
- Provide hands on technical assistance supporting engineering functions within the decontamination department, ensuring equipment, systems, and processes operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
- Alongside core technical support duties, the individual will provide cross functional operational cover when required, supporting business continuity in a regulated environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide first- and second-line technical support for decontamination equipment such as washers, sterilisers/autoclaves, ultrasonic equipment, tracking systems, and monitoring tools.
- Support engineers with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance activities.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and calibration of decontamination machinery and associated systems.
- Support compliance with HTM 01-01, ISO 13485, and local decontamination procedures where relevant.
- Provide operational cover across the decontamination unit.
ABOUT YOU
- A National Certificate or National Diploma in engineering or technology accredited, registered electrical/fitting/plumbing apprenticeship.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building services engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of porous load sterilizers, bench top sterilizers, washer disinfectors, flexible endoscopes and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Ability to fault find & problem solve.
- Ability to interpret complex information and range of options.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent organisational & time management & administration skills.
- Able to communicate with internal staff and key contacts at contracts.
- Attention to detail, initiative and drive to work independently.
- Specialist training to accredited standard for competent person status experience in maintenance works.
THE TERMS
- Contract Term: Permanent
- Hours of Work: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday - 1 hour unpaid lunch break
- Annual Leave: 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service to a maximum of 28 days)
- Salary: £55,000.00 (dependent on experience)
- Benefits: Pension scheme, enhanced family friendly benefits, private medical insurance after 1 year of service, sick pay scheme.
