We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Service Engineers within the Decontamination Field:

  • 1 covering Bristol
  • 1 covering South East/South West

THE ROLE

The role is responsible to undertake maintenance and diagnostic repair, to electrical/electronic, mechanical, plumbing, steam and pneumatic decontamination plant and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake scheduled PPM Maintenance, Servicing, Validation and Modification
  • Ensuring best practice in the maintenance, control and observance of engineering process and procedures for Servicing and Repair
  • Undertake Emergency Repair and Rectification
  • Partake in the Company on call rota system, as required by the business
  • Carry out testing to HTM 01 to ensure equipment meets recognized performance standards for production of clean instruments used in patient treatment
  • Provide user and Approved Person with detailed test results for evidence of compliant equipment to QA standards of that department
  • Carry out user training in the operation of equipment to ensure that staff are competent
  • Ensure continuity of service, i.e. availability of equipment in order that patient activity can be maintained
  • Ensure that a personal CPD log is maintained to evidence training and competencies
  • Provide accurate and up to date records in accordance with HTM 01 to ensure that QA nonconformities are minimized
  • Participate in training and education of machine operatives
  • Test viability of sterilization and disinfection procedures for new surgical equipment to ensure safe use
  • Ensuring that MHRA Device Alerts are read and Serious Equipment Failure signals are actioned where necessary

ABOUT YOU

  • A National Certificate or National Diploma in engineering or technology accredited, registered electrical/fitting/plumbing apprenticeship
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building services engineering
  • Comprehensive knowledge of porous load sterilizers, bench top sterilizers, washer disinfectors, flexible endoscopes and ultrasonic cleaners
  • Ability to fault find & problem solve
  • Ability to interpret complex information and range of options
  • Excellent organisational & time management & administration skills
  • Able to communicate with internal staff and key contacts at contracts
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative and drive to work independently
  • Specialist training to accredited standard for competent person status experience in maintenance works

THE TERMS

  • Contract Term: Permanent
  • Hours of Work: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday - 1 hour unpaid lunch break
  • Annual Leave: 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service to a maximum of 28 days)
  • Salary: £42,000.00 to £50,000 (dependant on experience)
  • Benefits: Pension scheme, laptop, enhanced family friendly benefits, private medical insurance after 1 year of service, sick pay scheme.
