Due to continued growth, Avensys Live is looking for a full-time Live Events AV Technician to join our busy live events team based at our Crawley operations hub. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an experienced AV hire and events team delivering high-quality services to a wide range of clients and venue partners.

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and hardworking individual to join our Technical Team. As a Live Events AV Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, delivery, setup, operation, and removal of AV equipment for a wide variety of events – from corporate conferences and roadshows to awards dinners and outdoor productions. In addition to event duties, you’ll play a key role in warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, and supporting local hires. Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Head of Department and Projects Team
  • Use the division’s stock control system
  • Take the lead on site where required, acting as the client point of contact
  • Check and finalise equipment lists
  • Pick, check, and prepare AV equipment
  • Load and unload equipment onto/off vans
  • Drive company vehicles and deliver AV equipment to venues
  • Set up equipment onsite, following Avensys protocols
  • Operate a range of AV equipment during events
  • De-rig equipment and return to warehouse
  • Check, clean, and maintain equipment post-event
  • Collect and return sub-hired equipment as required
  • Ensure correct handling and documentation of all project and delivery paperwork
  • Assist with maintenance of warehouse, vehicles, and set panels
  • Attend internal production meetings as needed
  • Contribute to the upkeep and readiness of all technical equipment

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong understanding and enthusiasm for AV technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to take technical lead on-site when needed
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and flexible attitude
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Competent IT skills (PowerPoint familiarity essential)
  • High attention to detail and time-keeping
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Physically fit and able to move and lift AV equipment
  • Willingness to work long hours and occasional weekends
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (Essential)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Must be 21 or over (due to vehicle insurance policy)
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

Working Hours

Standard hours: 08:30 – 17:30 (Flexible). Due to the nature of the industry, flexibility is essential, including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and occasional overnight stays. We operate a generous overtime and TOIL policy for additional hours worked.
