Contract: 06 Months Plus
Rate: 500-550 GBP Per Day – Inside IR35
Current Active SC Clearance
The candidate must have currently valid, fully transferrable SC clearance and resided in the UK for the last 5 years to be considered for these roles.
This is a pivotal role in maintaining critical national infrastructure where scalability and resilience are essential. We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps engineer with a strong background in testing (including APIs). The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and results-driven, capable of thriving in an Agile team.
You will need to be comfortable with Confluence for documentation and Jira for project tracking and story management.
Your main responsibility will be to develop and structure a comprehensive test framework. This includes creating approaches and plans, gaining approval for those approaches, and ultimately delivering a complex set of functional and performance tests for software components running within an AWS multi-account model. You will be working alongside client teams and supporting, as required, in a 3rd line capacity.
Key technologies you will be working with include:
- Vault
- Consul
- Kubernetes
- Various AWS services (Compute, Identity)
- Prometheus for monitoring
- ELK
- Jenkins for CI/CD
- Scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and/or Bash
Knowledge of proxies and firewalls, including Fortinet and Palo Alto, would be an advantage.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
- Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Planning the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities
- Managing stakeholders and external interfaces
- Setting up tools and required infrastructure
- Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
- Reviewing, verifying, and validating the software code developed in the project
- Troubleshooting techniques and fixing code bugs
- Monitoring processes during the entire lifecycle for adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement
- Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
- Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
- Incident management and root cause analysis
- Coordination and communication within the team and with customers
- Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
- Striving for continuous improvement and building continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Mentoring and guiding team members
- Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs
- Managing periodic reporting on progress to management and the customer
