Avenir LNG was formed in 2018 to be a leading supplier of LNG in small scale energy markets lacking access to natural gas.
About the Role
The Commercial Operations team is responsible for end-to-end commercial and logistics support to all LNG shipping operations within the Avenir LNG group. Commercial Operations is also involved in the development of projects and new contracts. Furthermore, the team is in charge of all bio-LNG related activities, including the sourcing and sales contracts, processing of sustainability certificates, and managing the various stakeholders involved in those transactions. This scope of responsibility requires working closely with the business development, shipping and finance functions.
As a Commercial Operations Analyst you will be working on:
- Support the sales and business development team with existing customers and new counterparties, incl. contract negotiations, contract management, and marketing.
- Manage and develop the Avenir bio-LNG bunker business together with the sales and business development team, incl. origination, customer contracts, certificate management.
- Provide accurate input to the creation of invoices (e.g. pricing, quantity conversions).
- Identify and investigate LNG quality discrepancies with counterparties calculations.
- Support timely issuance of contractual notices, invoices and payments in accordance with contract obligations.
- Maintain/develop the Commercial Operations portal (including record of cargo transactions, published pricing data) and the online library of cargo-related documentation for internal reference and audit purposes.
- Develop new project-related systems & processes to support cargo loading and discharge nominations and scheduling, inventory management in accordance with the contract.
- Actively engage and support ship operations team and finance & accounting team when evaluating freight and/or fuel consumption calculations (for evaluating new cargo opportunities or post-trade P/L analysis).
- Compile and disseminate to third parties the required company information to register Avenir LNG with new counterparties (e.g. KYC processes).
Qualifications
- Degree educated or higher.
- Experience within the LNG Industry is desirable.
- Biomethane or Bio-LNG background is desirable.
- Commercial Operations experience is desirable.

- Confident and accurate with numerical analysis.

Extra
For this role you need to be located in the UK and have a right to work in the UK. We have a hybrid working model. Three days from the office and two days from home. The Avenir office is located in Mayfair, London.
