Your Role at a Glance: We are seeking an experienced Financial Consultant to join our finance team on a six-month fixed-term contract to support the completion of a portfolio of statutory audits. This is a hands-on role working closely with the finance team and external auditors to ensure financial statements and supporting documentation are completed accurately and on time. The successful candidate will be comfortable investigating issues, preparing high-quality audit support, and driving solutions to technical accounting and reporting challenges.
Location & Flexibility: Full-time, 6-months fixed-term contract role based at our modern office in Runway East, London. Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 9 am to 6 pm with a one-hour lunch. This position is hybrid, with the expectation to go to the London office 3 days per week (more if you’d like).
Key responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end support throughout the external audit process for multiple international entities.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting audit schedules.
- Prepare working papers and actively look for any improvements.
- Respond to auditor queries and coordinate the timely provision of supporting evidence.
- Investigate historic accounting issues and share findings in a clear manner.
- Ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and appropriately referenced.
- Work closely with finance stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues.
- Support the continuous improvement of financial reporting and audit processes.
- Be comfortable in challenging auditors with the support of the Senior Financial Accountant.
About you:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
- Strong financial accounting background.
- Previous experience supporting statutory audits.
- Experience in preparing statutory financial statements.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and/or local GAAP reporting.
- Excellent balance sheet reconciliation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using NetSuite.
- Experience with Dutch Accounting Standards (NL GAAP) and FRS 102.
- Experience preparing Dutch statutory financial statements.
- Experience with Caseware or similar financial statement preparation software.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or international group.
- Experience reviewing workpapers prepared by others.
- Experience in improving audit documentation and controls.
- Experience supporting businesses operating within e-commerce or online retail environments.
