Aveni is redefining how financial institutions use AI. We build real, production-ready agentic systems that reshape how banks, advisers and financial services firms operate, replacing fragmented processes with intelligent, end-to-end workflows. We have been recognised as Fintech of the Year for two consecutive years and awarded Best Specialist Technology Service at the Professional Adviser Awards 2025. Backed by leading investors including Puma Private Equity, and commercially supported by Lloyds Banking Group and Nationwide Building Society, we previously completed one of Scotland's largest Series A rounds. Since then, we’ve continued to grow rapidly as adoption of AI in financial services accelerates, and we’re now scaling our engineering organisation to meet that demand.

Our engineering team includes experienced software engineers and PhD-level AI specialists, with strong ties to the University of Edinburgh, giving you access to exceptional expertise and opportunities for continuous learning as part of the day-to-day work.

About the role: We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager, for an initial 6 month period, to lead the successful implementation of our AI-driven solutions for enterprise clients within the financial services sector. This is a highly client-facing role, owning delivery from pre-sales handover through to post-implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to an exceptional standard. You’ll act as the main point of contact for clients, working closely with internal teams across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Implementation & Support to deliver a smooth and value-driven customer experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys stakeholder management, and is passionate about technology, AI, and financial services.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver end-to-end client implementation projects
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with internal teams and clients
  • Act as the primary client contact throughout the implementation lifecycle, managing expectations and providing regular updates
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across internal and external teams, including status meetings and steering groups
  • Ensure enterprise customer requirements are clearly reflected in project plans and outcomes
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation, including implementation plans, risk logs, status reports, and post-project reviews
  • Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies to optimise delivery, efficiency, and client ROI
  • Seek opportunities for value-add engagement, including face-to-face client interactions where appropriate

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience in client-facing Project Management roles
  • Proven delivery of complex, cross-party software implementation projects within financial services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confident stakeholder manager with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience using project management tools such as Jira
  • Comfortable working remotely, with willingness to travel to client sites when required
  • Exposure to AI or data-led products
  • Technical understanding and confidence engaging in technical discussions

About you: You’re dependable, conscientious, and a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude. You enjoy problem-solving, thrive on ownership, and are motivated by delivering real value to clients. An interest in AI, machine learning, and financial services will help you succeed and grow in this role.

At Aveni, we believe that diversity drives innovation. We’re committed to building a team that reflects the diverse communities we serve and creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work. If you’re passionate about leveraging technology to drive positive change and want to be part of a team that’s shaping the future of financial services, we’d love to hear from you.
