We have an excellent opportunity for a graduate or school leaver looking to start their career in Underwriting. We are partnered with a leading insurer who are looking to recruit an Assistant Underwriter into their Livestock team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high performing team, with a real emphasis on career progression and development.
Key responsibilities
- Solve a wide range of problems, both large and small, with a proactive approach to finding improved solutions.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes, relationships, and technology.
- Communicate effectively via phone, email, and face‑to‑face meetings, ensuring clear and efficient information flow.
- Adapt to a dynamic environment where priorities may shift and no two days are the same.
- Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather and verify information and support commercial underwriting decisions.
- Develop and implement action plans aligned with broader team and business objectives.
- Work autonomously while contributing to overall team success.
Skills & experience
Essential
- Strong problem‑solving skills, particularly within a business context.
- Good standard of numeracy, including confidence working with percentages, ratios, and basic statistical concepts.
- Excellent communication skills across multiple platforms.
