Avencia are partnering with a market leading insurer to hire a Claims Handler into their Public Liability and Property claims team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring claims professional to join a highly collaborative team with exposure to a broad range of claims, responsibility for managing your own caseload and the opportunity to develop your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Employer's Liability, Public Liability and Property claims from notification through to final settlement.
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for your individual claims workload.
  • Prioritise work effectively and manage competing deadlines.
  • Apply policy wordings accurately across Employer's Liability, Public Liability and Property classes of business.
  • Maintain strong communication with brokers and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Build and develop key broker relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with Underwriting and Claims colleagues.

The successful candidate will

  • Have either legal qualifications or will be a claims practitioner with relevant experience including studying towards or having a real desire to study towards CII qualifications.
  • Ideally have experience working within a UK Retail insurance environment.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook and must become fully competent with their in-house systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
