We're supporting a leading specialist insurer in the search for an experienced Pricing Actuary to join its newly established Portfolio Management function. This is a unique opportunity to influence underwriting strategy, shape pricing capability and work directly with senior business leaders, including the Chief Underwriting Officer and Product Heads.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for calibrating 6β8 pricing models across the UK portfolio, building robust, repeatable processes that will underpin future pricing decisions. Your work will include:
- Reviewing and enhancing existing pricing model structures
- Extracting and analysing data
- Calibrating ground-up expected loss cost models
- Back testing against historical portfolios
- Reverse engineering rates into the existing rating structure
- Identifying model performance and areas for improvement
- Producing clear documentation for future calibration exercises
- Presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
About You
You'll bring:
- Extensive actuarial pricing experience within UK general insurance
- A strong track record of developing and calibrating pricing models across multiple lines of business
- Excellent technical and analytical capability
- Experience influencing underwriting and business stakeholders
- A strong understanding of UK liability insurance products
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating across underwriting, actuarial and portfolio management teams
