I’m working with a leading London Market business on the appointment of a Head of Pricing – Specialty, supporting a diverse portfolio across Marine, Aviation, Contingency and Space.

About the Role

This is a portfolio-focused role with significant ownership and exposure across the portfolio, combining leadership with the opportunity to remain genuinely close to underwriting, deals and commercial decision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Specialty pricing function
  • Work closely with underwriters, getting into the detail of individual deals and their commercial drivers
  • Take ownership of portfolio analysis and optimisation, identifying opportunities to improve performance and profitability
  • Price and review large and complex deals, translating analysis into tangible underwriting recommendations
  • Develop and enhance pricing tools and models across existing and new product lines
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across underwriting, reinsurance, exposure management and risk
  • Gain significant exposure across a strategically important Specialty portfolio

Required Skills

  • A strong people manager who enjoys developing others
  • Specialty experience, ideally with exposure to Marine and/or Aviation
  • Someone commercially minded and hands-on who enjoys getting into the detail rather than operating purely at a high level
  • Strong technical capability combined with the ability to turn analysis into clear, actionable commercial recommendations
