An established and growing UK insurer is looking to appoint a Head of Construction to lead and further develop a high-performing portfolio that has grown substantially over the last couple of years. This is a senior role with real influence, responsible for product leadership, pricing, underwriting strategy and broker engagement across the UK construction market. You’ll play a key role in shaping appetite, launching new products and driving profitable, sustainable growth.
Key focus areas
- Ownership of the Construction product line, including pricing, appetite and governance
- Supporting strategic broker relationships and high-value opportunities
- Leading referrals and contributing to underwriting leadership decisions
- Working closely with actuarial, sales and underwriting teams to enhance trading performance

- Strong experience in Contractors Combined
- Background in Underwriting or Broking (senior/technical level)
- Proven track record of profitable performance in the UK retail broker market
- Excellent technical knowledge of construction risks and market dynamics
- Commercial, collaborative and confident engaging with brokers and internal stakeholders
Location
Hybrid, with flexibility across UK offices (Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and London) and broker visits as required.
