Are you an experienced Energy Claims professional looking to join a collaborative and highly respected global insurer?
We're recruiting for an Energy Claims Adjuster to manage a varied portfolio of complex Energy claims, working across both lead and follow business.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically strong team, handling claims from first notification through to settlement while working closely with underwriters, brokers, clients and external experts.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of Energy claims across a range of classes, including:
- Upstream Energy
- Operational Power
- Renewables
- Downstream Energy
You’ll investigate coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements, set appropriate reserves and ensure claims are managed efficiently within your authority.
The role offers exposure to complex, high‑value claims and international programmes, providing plenty of opportunity to further develop your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Energy claims from first notification through to settlement.
- Review policy coverage and determine the insurer's response to claims.
- Investigate liability, negotiate settlements and pursue recovery opportunities where appropriate.
- Establish and maintain accurate claim reserves.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, clients, loss adjusters, solicitors, TPAs and other external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Underwriting, Risk Management and international servicing offices to deliver an excellent claims service.
- Maintain accurate claims records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of the wider claims function.
- Share technical knowledge and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
About You
- Previous experience handling Energy claims within the London Market.
- Experience managing both lead and follow claims.
- Strong technical knowledge of Energy insurance coverage.
- A good understanding of London Market practices and systems (including CLASS/ECF).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to negotiate complex claims and build strong broker and client relationships.
- Ideally, five or more years' relevant claims experience.
