We\’re partnered with a global insurer looking to hire an Underwriter into their London team.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior underwriting leadership, supporting the development and execution of a diverse (re)insurance portfolio across multiple specialty classes.
Unlike more traditional roles, this position offers broad exposure across the business, working alongside underwriting, pricing, exposure management and claims teams, with visibility on how deals are structured and how portfolio strategy is shaped.
The Role
- Support the underwriting of specialty risks, including analysis and evaluation of submissions
- Assist in structuring deals, reviewing exposures and contributing to coverage decisions
- Work closely with internal teams including pricing, exposure management, claims and reserving
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key stakeholders
- Prepare presentations and materials for senior underwriting leadership
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of underwriting data across systems
- Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory developments and class-specific insights
Skills & Experience
- 3-7+ years\’ experience within the London Market, in underwriting or broking
- Exposure to specialty lines such as marine, energy, aviation, cyber, political risk or reinsurance
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in broader portfolio-level underwriting
- Analytical mindset, with confidence working with data and interpreting risk
- A proactive, curious individual who enjoys working across teams and building relationships
