A global corporate and specialty insurance organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support the delivery of high-quality, timely branch financial reporting. The role places strong emphasis on developing and improving underlying processes and controls, in line with internal policies and standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and ownership, with the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines while remaining flexible and resilient. This position is a 1 year fixed-term contract with potential for extension.
Financial Reporting (Technical)
- Lead the establishment of business partnering within the financial controls area, identifying key stakeholders and control account owners.
- Establish service level agreements (SLAs) with stakeholders contributing to the production of monthly audit files.
- Update finance procedures and support the development of a finance manual.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within scope of responsibility.
- Support the preparation and delivery of accurate quarterly and annual financial reporting for the UK entity.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial results.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the technical performance of the UK entity.
- Support analysis and understanding of IFRS 17 results.
- Maintain clear oversight of how operational data translates into financial outcomes.
- Monitor regulatory changes (statutory, legal, etc.) and assess potential impacts.
- Support communication and understanding of key financial interfaces.
- Assist with interim and annual audits.
- Support periodic system reporting submissions.
- Design, develop and analyse reports, identifying and recommending solutions to reporting issues.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant local and group guidelines.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance process efficiency, quality, and value.
- Manage system improvements and maintain documentation of controls relating to reporting processes.
- Perform detailed data validation and analytical reviews, escalating inconsistencies where necessary.
