Avencia are partnered with a leading insurer, who are looking to recruit an Underwriting Support Assistant in their Life Sciences team, based in Leeds. This is a one-year fixed-term contract and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the insurance industry.
The role involves working as part of the underwriting administration team, providing vital support to underwriters across a range of tasks, including:
- Accurately inputting insurance data into internal systems, ensuring compliance with established accuracy standards and deadlines.
- Requesting and reviewing survey reports, and issuing risk requirements to brokers.
- Managing diary actions and proactively following up on outstanding items.
- Handling internal and external enquiries via email and telephone in a professional and timely manner.
- Providing administrative assistance to underwriters as required.
- Monitoring and following up on renewals with brokers to support business retention and growth.
- Chasing outstanding renewal information from brokers through phone and email communication.
- Supporting the team and wider business with ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
