The opportunity:

Our client is a progressive law firm, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and part of the Fortune 500 listed wider group. With over 60 lawyers across offices in Manchester, Leeds, London, and Croydon, they handle complex and high-value legal matters across commercial, civil, personal injury, employment, and regulatory law.

We have a great new role for an Associate Solicitor which can be based one day per week from either our Manchester or Leeds office, supporting on both conscientious and non-contentious employment law cases as well as working with some of their larger retail clients.

What you'll be doing:

You will support clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including:

  • Advising on ACAS early conciliation, prospects, HR issues, and grievance/disciplinary procedures
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks, and settlement agreements
  • Managing Employment Tribunal and EAT claims, from instruction to hearing on behalf of defendants
  • Conducting advocacy, case management, witness statements, and client briefings
  • Delivering training, legal updates, and contributing to cross-team knowledge sharing
  • Building and nurturing strong client relationships

Our must haves:

  • Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • 7-8 years + PQE experience
  • Practising Certificate as a solicitor or barrister in the UK
  • Excellent communication, drafting and analytical skills
  • Confidence in client-facing roles, with strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with independence and efficiency
  • Commitment to CPD, teamwork and continuous improvement
