Avencia is partnered with an established insurer and member of the Talanx Group who are looking to recruit a Liability Claims Adjuster in their London office. This is a collaborative, high-performing liability claims team focused on UK EL, PL and Product liability claims. The team is led by two managers who report to the UK head and also handles international claims and specialist areas such as clinical trial claims. A supportive and sociable environment enables team members to thrive and develop professionally.
The role involves desktop adjusting own portfolio of cases, from first advice through to settlement within their designated authority, in accordance with the claims handling manual. The cases are varied and may include both lead and follow claims to a high technical level.
Key accountabilities:
- Evaluate cause of loss and determine coverage based on policy and documentation.
- Handle claims from investigation to settlement within authority and guidelines.
- Support accurate and timely reserve setting for effective exposure assessment.
- Ensure precise entry of claims data and contribute to MI reporting.
- Liaise with clients, brokers, TPAs, loss adjusters and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient claims handling.
- Assist in managing international programmes and coordinating with global offices.
- Maintain regulatory records and prepare reports for audit and compliance.
- Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills & experience:
- Lead liability claims handling experience, including complex cases.
- Skilled in reviewing and managing MI to ensure data accuracy and insight.
- Strong knowledge of the UK market in public, products, and employers liability.
