A leading specialist insurer is looking to hire an Assistant Underwriter to join their growing Cyber team in Manchester. This is a brilliant opportunity to join at an exciting stage, as the business continues to invest heavily in building out its cyber proposition across the UK. The team is in growth mode, with a strong focus on digital trading, product development, and establishing themselves as a key player in the market.
The Role
You will support the underwriting team across a mix of new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments, while also playing a key role in the transition onto a digital trading platform. You will gain exposure to both e-trade and open market environments, working closely with underwriters and brokers in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting underwriting activity across new business, renewals and MTAs
- Engaging with brokers via phone and email to support trading activity
- Assisting with the migration of business onto Acturis
- Managing diary items and following up on outstanding enquiries
- Supporting the team in delivering a high level of service
Skills & Experience
- Around 12+ months' experience within insurance (underwriting, broking or operations)
- Exposure to cyber, financial lines, PI or similar lines is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Commercially minded and keen to build a career in underwriting
- Experience with Acturis is advantageous but not essential
