Avencia are partnered with a global insurer and member of the Talanx Group who are looking to recruit an Underwriting Technician. The Underwriting Technician will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of technical information for the UK & Ireland Branch, as well as other branches or entities under its responsibility. This includes supporting the handling of domestic and multinational business on behalf of the wider global network.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue UK & Ireland policies accurately and on time, in line with underwriting and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with underwriters, brokers, producing offices, fronting partners, and co-insurers to ensure data accuracy
- Capture and maintain high-quality underwriting data across core insurance systems
- Process new business, renewals, endorsements, premiums, terrorism, co-insurance, reinsurance, taxes, and fees
- Issue and validate Requests of Coverage (RoCs) and maintain audit-ready electronic records
- Support international programmes by coordinating with servicing offices and regional hubs
- Administer MGA and TPA bordereaux, resolving queries with finance and credit control teams
- Monitor data quality, identify issues, and escalate where required
- Produce operational and data quality reports to support internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and process enhancements
- Support training and oversight of junior team members
- Ensure service standards, governance, and regulatory obligations are consistently met
