We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role is ideal for a driven finance professional looking to further develop their expertise within the financial services industry. As a Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of the review and finalisation of financial reporting for a portfolio of investment funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and finalising accounting deliverables prepared by trainees and accountants, including daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping.
- Preparing and reviewing annual and interim financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Managing reporting timelines to ensure all client deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Performing and reviewing complex reconciliations, accounting adjustments, and technical calculations.
- Acting as a primary point of contact for clients on operational and reporting matters.
- Supporting Assistant Managers and Managers during audits, regulatory reviews, and technical assessments.
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to junior team members.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of investor reporting and capital activity statements.
- Ensuring full adherence to internal accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
What we’ll look for on your CV:
- Partly or fully qualified accountant status (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with 2-4+ years’ relevant experience, ideally within accounting or financial services.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Bob Sage, Geneva, Investran, or similar) is a plus.
- Sound knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS reporting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to support and develop junior colleagues.
- Adaptability, resilience, and a continuous learning approach.
