Product Design Engineer - Hertfordshire - Salary up to £50,000 + Bonus circa £5,000 + Benefits - Ref 2044

I am currently recruiting for a Product Design Engineer to work for a very highly regarded organisation based in Hertfordshire. Salary up to £50,000 + Bonus circa £5,000 + Benefits.

The organisation has a fantastic heritage and now employs over 50 people in the UK, which heads towards 100 including international employee's that are situated across the globe. They have an unrivalled excellence for their products and quality is at the forefront of everything they do. They are known internationally and their products can be seen typically in very high-end establishments.

In line with their expansion plans and to support the shear amount of projects they currently have, they have the need to appoint another Product Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

In this role as a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for NPI/ NPD projects taking them from concept, to manufacture and final assembly for the USA market. This will be a hands-on role and you will be getting involved in testing, development and prototyping specifically with regards to 3D printing. You will also be expected to support their existing product portfolio which may include modifications and alterations to existing designs and subsequent products.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Product Design Engineer, Industrial Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
  • At least 2 years' experience commercially
  • Previous experience with DFM (ideally Machining or Forging)
  • Experience designing products that have a great emphasis on aesthetics as well as an appreciation of function and manufacturability
  • Experience designing products for the USA market and therefore familiar with UL standards
