I am currently recruiting an Electronics Lab Technician to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Berkshire. Salary up to £35,000 + Benefits.

The organisation is very well regarded for their engineering excellence and having been established for over 70 years they have a fantastic heritage. They work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of technology, being able to deliver innovative solutions to industry problems and challenges many of their competitors are unable to solve. As a result, they have some of the most highly capable engineers within their business.

To support the growth of the business and in line with current workload they have created a brand new role and have the need to appoint an Electronics Lab Technician on a permanent basis.

In this role as an Electronics Lab Technician, you will be responsible for all laboratory work supporting the engineers who are designing and developing the products. You will be very hands-on with assembling prototypes, conducting the testing, and supporting all results with the necessary data and documentation. You will also be involved in soldering, PCB rework activities and preparing the necessary harnesses. Operating a range of 3D printers and the EMC test chamber will also fall under your remit.

Essential Requirements:
  • Experience as an Electronics Lab Technician, Electronics Engineer, Electronics Test Engineer, Prototype Engineer, Bench Technician or similar
  • Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, signal generators and/or logic analysers
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience working in a laboratory
  • Experience with soldering
  • Security Cleared (SC clearance)
  • PCB Design and Schematic capture (ideally Altium)
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, sensors, microcontrollers, power supplies, motors, or embedded systems
  • Experience with ESD handling, component identification, and PCB inspection
