I am currently recruiting for a Workshop Technician to work for a cutting-edge engineering company based in London. Salary up to £45,000 Benefits. The organisation is a well-established yet rapidly growing global business, recognised for delivering a wide range of market-leading products. They operate internationally, employ a highly skilled workforce, and continue to invest heavily in innovation, product development, and engineering capability.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking company that offers both stability and strong growth prospects. In line with demand and to support the business with their growth plans they have the need to appoint a Workshop Technician on a permanent basis.
In this role as a Workshop Technician, you'll be required to work on the shopfloor where you will support research and development teams by building and assembling prototypes, components, and product assemblies. Approximately 75% of the role will involve using mills and lathes to manually machine the necessary components. In addition to this, you will also be creating the necessary tooling, jigs, and fixtures to facilitate the prototype builds. This could involve you using CAD to design them yourself, or modifying the designs that come through from the Mechanical Design department.
Essential requirements:- At least 5 Years experience working as a Workshop Technician, Workshop Engineer, Prototype Engineer, Manual Machinist or similar
- Experience using Manual Machines (Mills and Lathes)
- Experience with CAD (Ideally Solidworks)
- Understanding of materials such as Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Wood and Plastics
