I am currently recruiting for a Technical Authority to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Surrey, but on a hybrid basis. Salary up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
The organisation has been established for over 30 years and is renowned for being the best at what they do within the defence and military sector on a global basis. They are a small yet specialist team employing around 50 people, with a turnover of over £20 million annually, which is set to continue moving upwards based on the ever-increasing demand for their products and systems.
To support the business with the current workload and in line with their expansion plans, they have the need to appoint a Technical Authority on a permanent basis.
In this role as a Technical Authority, you will be responsible for leading all technical specifications for the company in line with RFQs from their customers. You will interpret the requirements from the customer whilst understanding the objectives and conduct the necessary research to come up with an appropriately engineered solution that meets or exceeds their expectations. Once satisfied, you will technically write the proposal for the customer, ensuring that the product, application, or system complies with the necessary standards and legislation. You will also be liaising with suppliers. This will be a very broad role, and you will be involved with Electronics, RF (Radio Frequency), Firmware, Mechanical, and Systems.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as an engineer (Electronics, RF, Firmware, Mechanical, Systems or similar)
- At least 5 years' experience in industry
- Previous experience in producing technical documentation (tenders, bids, technical specifications, test plans, architecture documentation, user manuals, safety reports or similar)
Desirable Requirements:
- Chartered (CENG or IENG)
- Previous experience working in a senior role such as Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Engineer or similar
- Experience within the Defence, Military or Aerospace domains
- SC Cleared or previously having been SC Cleared
- Familiar with MIL, DEF, EMC or other Defence related standards
This is a rare and extremely exciting opportunity for a Technical Authority to join a forward-thinking company in a role with significant importance and autonomy. The organisation places every employee's work-life balance at the forefront of what they do. They work incredibly well as a team and boast a fantastic retention rate for their staff, with further advancement and progression available for you should this appeal.
This is an immediate requirement, so if you have the required skills and experience, please get in touch with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
