I am currently recruiting for a Technical Specialist to work for a leading engineering organisation. You will be able to work from home on the basis of reporting to the office (Surrey) as and when required, typically once per week. Salary up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
The organisation has been established for over 30 years and is renowned for being the best at what they do within the defence and military sector on a global basis. They are a small yet specialist team employing around 50 people, but turnover is over £20 million annually with that figure set to continue moving upwards based on the ever-increasing demand for their products and systems.
To support the business with the current workload and in line with their expansion plans, they have the need to appoint a Technical Specialist on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Development team with bids and tenders from a technical perspective. You will interpret the requirements from the customer whilst understanding the objectives and conduct the necessary research to come up with an appropriately engineered solution that meets or exceeds their expectations. Once satisfied, you will technically write the proposal for the customer, ensuring that the product, application or system complies with the necessary standards and legislations. You will also be liaising with suppliers.
Essential Requirements:- Previous experience as an engineer (electronics, systems, software, mechanical or similar)
- At least 5 years' experience in industry
- Previous experience in producing technical documentation (tenders, bids, technical specifications, test plans, architecture documentation, user manuals, safety reports)
- Experience within the Defence, Military or Aerospace domains
- SC Cleared or previously having been SC Cleared
- Familiar with MIL, DEF, EMC standards
This role would be suited to either someone who has been an Engineer and has moved into more commercially focused Bid/Tender management roles or an Engineer now that is heavily involved in technical documentation and is happy moving into a more commercially focused hands-off role, but still utilising your technical knowledge to propose the correct solutions.
This is a rare and extremely exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join a forward-thinking company that places every employee's work-life balance at the forefront of what they do. They work incredibly well as a team and boast a fantastic retention rate for their staff.
This is an immediate requirement, so if you have the required skills and experience, please get in touch with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
