I am currently recruiting for a Cost Engineer to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Feltham. The organisation is an industry leader within their field delivering world class products into a specialist market. They have a team of highly motivated individuals that are extremely driven and pride themselves on delivering their innovative portfolio of products and engineering expertise to clients across the globe.

Due to a further expansion in the demand of their product range, the organisation has the need to appoint a Cost Engineer on a permanent basis. In this role as a Cost Engineer, you will play a vital role between the production and sales teams. Utilising the company's ERP system, you will be responsible for generating quotes and cost estimates for a wide range of products. You will work closely with the Sales team, receiving incoming leads from them and based on these, you'll estimate the BOM and labour costs using the ERP system. These estimates will then be passed back to the Sales team to help secure new business. Once a project is won, you will prepare a detailed cost analysis and hand it over to the Production team to start the manufacturing process.

Additionally, every Wednesday you will attend a non-conformance meeting where you will review product performance, conduct root cause analyses, and identify areas for improvement or potential failures. You will lastly be involved in creating part numbers and ECN/ECR (engineering change notes and engineering change requests) for obsolete components.

Ideal Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience as a Cost Engineer, Sales Engineer, Proposals Engineer, Estimator or similar
  • Experience working in the Manufacturing industry (Preferably Metal)
  • Knowledge of BOM

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ERP Systems
  • Mechanical experience / background
