We are a Co-operative created and owned by Aotearoa New Zealand dairy farmers. Our rich history is built on farming families working together to share the natural goodness of our dairy with the world. Collaboration, innovation, and passion was the cornerstone of our creation and something we continue to value today through our commitment to care for the land, our animals, and every drop of milk. Our milk creates goodness through nutritious food with safe, quality ingredients that are loved here in New Zealand and around the world.
At Farm Source, our team is driven by the same co-operative spirit that our farmers and their communities share. We make farming easier so farmers can continue to concentrate on what they do best – producing high quality New Zealand milk in the most sustainable way. This means growing and supporting the right people – people with plenty of roll-your-sleeves up energy to rise to the challenge. Whether you’re on the farm getting your gumboots dirty or connecting over a coffee at our local stores, you’ll be getting the mahi done as part of a trusted team – backed by good people, the right products, innovative solutions, and industry-leading expertise.
Our Rakaia store is looking for a Senior Sales Specialist. You will be the face of Fonterra Farm Source in the community and a trusted source of advice for our customers. Your role will be crucial in delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales, and maintaining strong relationships within the community. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Deliver high levels of customer service and experience.

- Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with the wider Fonterra Farm Source team for the benefit of our farmers.
- Possess and put into practice a general knowledge of our product range (including features, usage and benefits) and service offering, with in-depth knowledge in at least one category.
- Understand the seasonal operations of farming and how these impact on the farmer’s business and on our business.
- Ensure high visual merchandising standards are maintained and that stock is grouped, displayed, and priced correctly in accordance with the company guidelines.
- Order stock for allocated product categories to meet seasonal demand and to comply with inventory level expectations.
- Demonstrate purchasing/sales planning to meet budget.
- Process all incoming stock accurately, and ensure it is ready for shelving as early as possible.
To be successful in this role you will possess a strong knowledge of the Farm Source store network and product range. You will need to be a self-starter with relevant sales knowledge. Coupled with your technical expertise, you will have the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders and enjoy working as part of a team.
Other success enablers include:
- Experience in a sales role - Minimum of two years.
- Proven organisational abilities and the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
