Located in scenic South Canterbury, our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing up to 13 million litres of milk per day at peak. We employ over 1,200 people across the value stream, all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.

About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga

Run To Target (RTT) is a core COO strategy to deliver continuous performance improvement by enabling leadership, with frontline teams, to build a high-performance culture. RTT is a line focused approach to building capability to rigorously maintain and execute standardised work processes to eliminate losses. It delivers one way of working that is practiced in over 500 sites worldwide, including Fonterra's global operations.

The Process Project Manager acts as a single point of contact and is responsible for identifying and coordinating improvements to the physical plant processes. This role is a conduit between the Plant and Maintenance Team Leader, ensuring that the right maintenance work is performed at the optimum time relative to production scheduling. The role is also responsible for assisting on-site or department specific projects which support the achievement of all Asset Management Plans and the Site Business Plans.

Our Energy Centre provides services which include steam, water, compressed air and refrigeration. You will utilise your strong organisation and planning skills to action preventative maintenance plans, resolve breakdowns, review plant performance for up-time and winter shut planning, as well as asset life cycles.

Reporting to the Line Lead, other key responsibilities include:

  • Various projects and continuous improvements initiatives
  • Work with maintenance to drive improvement in SAP data, and Asset Strategy
  • Identify, prioritise and manage process improvement projects
  • Supporting the generation and delivery of key velocity initiatives across site
  • Supporting teams to deliver operational excellence
  • Provision of coaching and mentoring

You will come from a Manufacturing and process background, with a strong ability to identify gaps in our current processes and design best operating practices. Your ability to foster change, alongside your strong analytical skills as well as health and safety focus, will be key to success in this role. You will also have strengths in coaching, influencing, facilitating and relationship management.

Other relevant skills and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Process) or a Trade background
  • A good understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Ability to drive and implement new initiatives, deliver results, and manage change
  • Strong business acumen with structured problem solving and lateral thinking skills
