Our Team: Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL) is a leading global provider of index solutions. Bloomberg offers a broad and evolving suite of industry-flagship and bespoke indices for benchmarking, asset allocation, customization and product creation leveraging the unparalleled power of Bloomberg data and research. Indices are available across multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Currency, Interest Rates, Multi-Asset Strategies, and Alternatives as well as Thematics, Climate and ESG with full integration with the Bloomberg terminal.

As an Index Production Analyst, you will join a global team responsible for the daily monitoring, processing, data quality and publishing of the Bloomberg Indices. You will be working with various internal groups in Engineering, Data, Product, and Sales to support the expansion of our index offering.

We will trust you to:

  • Run daily production tasks, responding to events raised in BISL's proprietary index monitoring systems.
  • Become a subject matter expert in multiple asset classes, related data and indices.
  • Maintain the integrity of indices in accordance with Bloomberg's methodologies, ensuring accurate application of index rules, quality control and data remediation.
  • Perform index rebalance evaluations, including analysis of membership inclusions and omissions.
  • Collaborate with the Index Product team to help design the tools needed to build new/customized indices.
  • Work with both our clients and internal partners in response to index data related queries.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Engineering to develop work flows, quality assurance processes and product improvements.

You will need to have:

  • 3+ years of index experience
  • Strong data and quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong operational and process management skills
  • Ability to analyze a problem on the fly, in real time, with limited information, and determine a valid and helpful course of action
  • Ability to identify and communicate the key points of information to partners and stakeholders—clearly, completely, and concisely—under pressure
  • Willingness to learn complex business and technology processes and actively contribute to their evolution
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with our clients
